Frida and Friendship
Frida and Friendship
This painting is a part of the series of mini Frida Kahlo portraits, where each of the paintings is inspired by her art. I take some elements from the original paintings, adding them to the story I’m telling about her. This is the tenth painting in a series inspired by Frida’s painting “Portrait of Dr. Leo Eloesser”, 1931. Dr. Leo Eloesser became Frida’s most trusted medical advisor for the rest of her life. She painted his portrait as an expression of her gratitude to the doctor for his friendship.
Frida was the first person I owlized; she is also one of my favorites; she is one of the artists whose brush told stories brighter than any word could say.
