Meet Eve
Eve Devore is a self-taught painter, a seeker, and an explorer bound by a vast curiosity about human existence. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering.
Born in Ukraine and living in New York since 2012, she started making art full-time in 2014.
Working in a range of media, she explores what it means to be a human, the intersection of how we present ourselves to the world, and the deep subconscious self we keep discovering moment by moment. She tries to capture a feeling of a particular moment, significant experience, or memory, translating it into colors and shapes. Eve’s art practice is highly intuitive, led by openness and trust in the creative process.
She often uses a subject as a vessel to express and layer feelings, impressions, and personal discoveries through color and symbolism. And the subject might not be what we initially perceive it to be.
Eve’s work ranges from whimsical owl paintings, full of color and intricate details, to documenting bodies in motion, exploring figurative works and abstraction, where she embraces the spontaneous nature of one of her favorite mediums - watercolor. Furthermore, she works in acrylics and oils, often using mixed media techniques. Switching between mediums and styles balances her creative practice while expanding her visual vocabulary.
