The best way to see the Miyajima Torii Gate is to wait for the low tide. Once the water retreats just walk over to it… Realizing in the process how big and intricate the structure actually is. And of course, don’t forget to say hello to the local hermit crabs as you pass them on the seabed. They are a neighborhood staple.
