One of the many paintings I painted during our stay in Algarve, Portugal. I loved going to a secluded beach nearby about an hour and a half before sunset to make a little painting. The light would change so fast that every time I’d lift my eyes from the palette, I found that the scene I was painting was shifting and dancing right in front of me. Creating those miniatures felt like chasing the sun. I’d bring a cup of tea, settle by the water, and watch, working as quickly as I could.
